Psychic Missed Opportunities?

I’ve been providing psychic readings to clients via various psychic phone lines and my own website for many years now. Over this period, I have noticed a poignant pattern emerge. Despite the wealth of profound spiritual questions one could explore with a psychic – questions on the very meaning of life, the nature of God and the angels, and the secrets of the universe – by far the most common concerns brought to me have been of a far more earthly nature. Relationship woes and unrequited love dominate the types of issues psychic phone line callers seek answers to.

On the psychic phone lines I have worked on in the past, I estimate around 90% of callers were seeking insight into matters of the heart. Typical questions include:

“Will my ex-boyfriend come back to me? We were so deeply in love and I know it’s meant to be.”

“I work with a married man at my office that I’m deeply drawn to. Although he doesn’t seem to notice me, I sense a special spiritual connection between us. When will he realise we’re soulmates and divorce his wife to be with me?”

“My soulmate left me over 20 years ago but I’ve never stopped believing we’re destined to reunite. Every psychic I’ve spoken to on this phone line has assured me this will happen. How much longer do I need to wait?”

In contrast, when I receive clients directly through my website, there seems to be a greater diversity of questions – more callers explore spiritual matters in-depth. This perhaps speaks to a difference in the motivations that lead people to seek out articles on various spiritual topics online, such as those published here, versus those that compel them to dial a psychic hotline. But even still, love issues remain very prominent.

It’s intriguing to consider why, when one believes they have the opportunity to access higher wisdom and divine guidance, more callers don’t ask more profound questions of the mysteries of existence. Familiar feelings of love, heartbreak and human desire seem to hold a much greater sway over our minds than curiosity about the big questions of life and the universe.

As a species, perhaps we are simply wired to prioritise the needs of our own emotional and survival well-being over knowledge for its own sake. Even when presented with the chance to plumb the depths of the cosmos, the human heart quickly pulls us back to the issues most affecting our daily experience.

The fact that only around 10% of callers to the psychic phonelines I’ve worked with asked about mediumship, spirit communication, or broader philosophical/spiritual matters underscores this. The psychic realm is often seen as a potential means to an end, with the end being fixing one’s current romantic misfortunes. Rather than as a realm to explore in and of itself.

Of course, relationship challenges are a central part of the human story. Lovers’ quarrels, broken hearts, and the quest to find the “one” are the stuff of literature and human drama. So perhaps it’s only natural that seekers of truth instinctively apply the tools of the spiritual tradition to gaining clarity on these earthy concerns. But I can’t help but feel a twinge of sadness that so many appear to miss the opportunity to pose more profound questions of life when they dial the psychic hotline.

The idea of connecting with the invisible realms is a powerful, moving experience for many. But so often this is applied in quite limited ways that don’t seem to match the full potential of such an interface. Asking an angel when your soulmate will arrive or if a past love will reunite with you is one level, but questions such as these could be only the starting point for a much deeper exploration.

The tools of mysticism and higher states of consciousness are not just for fixing mundane problems, but for gaining insight into the greatest mysteries of all – the nature of the divine, the meaning of incarnation, and our highest purpose. While healing love issues has obvious appeal, I encourage callers to also use their interactions with psychics to plumb deeper questions. Allow the energy of the unknown to stretch your mind to new frontiers.

Dialing a psychic for insight into your broken heart is one thing, but you could also ask profound questions like:

“What is the nature and purpose of my soul?” “What is the true reality beyond the material world?” “What is the nature of the divine feminine and divine masculine?” “Can you connect me with my spirit guides to gain wisdom on my life path?” “What is the nature of karma and reincarnation?” “What happens after death?”

It seems that the pursuit of unrequited love can become an obstacle to personal growth and self-acceptance. Callers frequently seek reassurance through psychic insights, attaching their hopes of happiness to the potential return of a lost love, rather than engaging with their own emotional healing. This fixation risks locking them into cycles of anticipation and disappointment, preventing them from embracing opportunities for self-discovery and fulfilment that may arise from pursuing broader spiritual inquiries.

As psychics, it is essential to encourage holistic healing. Our role extends beyond offering predictions regarding love; we also have the opportunity to guide individuals through their emotional landscapes and empower them to find clarity within themselves. By intertwining messages of love with deeper spiritual teachings, we can help callers broaden their perspectives and inspire explorations outside of personal romantic quests.

In light of this observation, I encourage anyone seeking guidance—even those grappling with heartache—to consider the greater questions of existence as fertile ground for growth. What does love mean in a broader context? How can the journey towards personal fulfilment coexist with our desire for companionship? In acknowledging our shared humanity, we can foster a more enriching relationship with the spirit realm that transcends fleeting romantic concerns and instead nurtures a quest for deeper understanding.

Ultimately, while the inquiries about unrequited love are valid and deserving of attention, they also represent a missed opportunity to unlock the profound connections we hold with the universe, each other, and ourselves, when posed in a narrow, limited way. By expanding our inquiries from the depths of our feelings to the expansiveness of our spirit, we can transform the landscape of our psychic experiences into something enriched with meaning and wisdom.

By all means ask about your love life if that is your greatest concern. But I suggest you also explore the deeper dimensions of existence when you have the chance. There are profound truths that await discovery, if only we ask the right questions.

The universe is vast and multifaceted, and the tools of mysticism allow us to contemplate it in a unique way. Let’s apply this gifts to the biggest questions of all, not just the most unsettling. Life is a mystery, and we are granted a extraordinary tool to explore it. Let’s make use of this divine interface to expand our minds, even as we solve our earthly issues. The ultimate truth awaits.
