Amazing Mediumship Experiments with John Edward

I’ve taken the opportunity on a number of occasions to see many of the world’s most well-known mediums, giving public demonstrations of mediumship. For example, I saw TJ Higgs in Bournemouth, Lisa Williams in Southampton, the late Colin Fry, three times in Bournemouth, Tony Stockwell once in Bournemouth and then a second time near London, with medium James Van Praagh. I also saw the late Derek Acorah twice in Bournemouth and once in Southampton. Each show was remarkable, due to the quality of the evidence presented by the mediums involved.

The first television medium I ever got to watch giving public demonstrations though, was John Edward, in his popular show called Crossing Over. Despite having had many spontaneous psychic experiences of my own over the years (which included receiving messages from Aurora) I hadn’t yet learned how to present dedicated psychic readings myself, at the time I first watched John Edward on TV. In the run up to me giving readings, in about the year 2000, I had three readings, with three different local psychics, in and around Bournemouth. Each time I had a reading I was told in various ways by the psychics involved that I could give readings myself, due to my latent psychic abilities. For instance, when I visited a well-known Irish medium called Tom Smith, he said to me, as I soon entered his reading room: ‘I don’t know why you’ve come to me for a reading. You could do what I do. They [the spirit world] told me this, about 15 minutes before you arrived’. Well-known Tarot reader, Donna Maxine also highlighted my psychic abilities, telling me in her reading: ‘I think you’ve got much stronger psychic abilities than you currently realise’. Adding that she sensed that my life was about to change course and take me in a direction that would involve more spiritual work (it did, she was right). Psychic artist, Corrine Cyster said much the same to me, at about the same time. She even introduced me to an editor of a popular magazine for them to write a story about my amazing experiences with my spirit guide, Aurora, which was published a few months later.

I was perplexed though, because despite all of these positive appraisals of my abilities, and even though I’d received psychic messages from Aurora, etc, I didn’t know exactly how to tune into Spirit in such a way that I could present meaningful readings, for up to an hour’s duration to clients. Receiving a short message was one thing, but maintaining a connection for a longer duration, was a challenge of higher order. This all changed though, when I watched John Edward present Crossing Over, in about 2002.

After many hours of observing John giving readings, somehow I learned to work in a similar way to him, myself. It was as if John Edward taught me how to be a professional medium, through his own example. By watching him present messages to members of the public, somehow I learned how to do the same. Bolstered by John’s demonstrations, in order to get started professionally myself, I then attended some short courses with the Joseph Carey Psychic Foundation in Portsmouth and Ershamstar (led by well-known mediums, Sheila French and Tim Abbott) in Canterbury. Soon afterwards, with my confidence growing, I advertised free readings, on the basis that if I had difficulty translating my abilities into practise, no one would have lost anything, but their time. Instead though, people’s reactions were very positive, and the information I received was of a high caliber. After about 6 months of providing free readings to applicants from around the world, I then began to charge a reasonable fee for my time and services. This was how my professional career as a psychic/medium began. Up until this time I had worked as a counsellor and hypnotherapist, but as the years passed, just as Donna Maxine had predicted, the requests for psychic mediumship readings grew until mediumship eclipsed my work as a hypnotherapist.

Naturally, I rate John Edward especially highly, not only for his remarkable talents, but also for the help and inspiration he provided to me, through his TV appearances and books. When I heard that John Edward was going to demonstrate his abilities at the Apollo Theatre, in London, I finally had the opportunity to see him in person. It was a great show, that I will always remember.

Given the positive impact that John Edward has had on my life, I’d like to share some details about a couple of the scientific experiments that John participated in.

John has been the subject of numerous scientific studies, including several conducted by Professor Gary Schwartz of the University of Arizona, some of which have been reported in the book called The Afterlife Experiments, written by Professor Schwartz (well worth reading).

One of the most impressive experiments involving John Edward and Professor Schwartz was conducted in 2002. In this experiment, John Edward was asked to identify the deceased loved ones of 24 participants. John was able to correctly identify the deceased loved one of 21 of the participants, a success rate of 87.5%.

Another impressive experiment involving John Edward and Professor Schwartz was conducted in 2004. In this experiment, John was asked to provide information about the deceased loved ones of 10 participants. He was able to provide accurate information about the deceased loved ones of 8 of the participants, a success rate of 80%.

The results of these experiments are impressive and demonstrate that John Edward has genuine, demonstrable psychic abilities.

John’s participation in these experiments has gone a long way to help demonstrate that mediumship is a genuine phenomenon and that the human soul survives physical ‘death’. If you ever have the opportunity to see John, Tony, James, Lisa or TJ in person, I highly recommend it. I’m grateful to all of these people for having the strength of character and the necessary courage to present their mediumship abilities, in front of large groups of people, under the gaze of TV cameras, in what can sometimes be a hostile media / online environment.
