It was during this time that she met Stewart Farrar, who would become her partner in both life and in their spiritual journey. Stewart Farrar was born in 1916 in Highams Park, England. He’d had a successful career as a journalist before he met Janet.
Janet and Stewart’s relationship was not only a romantic one but also a spiritual one. They shared a deep love for witchcraft and paganism, and together they explored and studied various traditions and practices. In 1970, they were initiated into the Alexandrian tradition of Wicca, and they went on to become prominent figures in the Wiccan community.
One of the most significant contributions of Janet and Stewart Farrar to the modern witchcraft movement was their book, ‘The Witches’ Bible.’ Published in 1981, this book is a compilation of two of their previous works, ‘Eight Sabbats for Witches’ and ‘The Witches’ Way.’ It is considered a classic in the Wiccan community and has been translated into multiple languages.
