Lynne McTaggart is an American journalist, author, and researcher who is known for her work in the field of consciousness and the power of intention. I attended a seminar presented by her in Poole, Dorset, soon after her excellent book ‘The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe’ was published. It was at this seminar that I first learned from Lynne, about the studies being conducted into mediumship, by Professor Gary Schwartz.
Lynne McTaggart’s interest in the power of intention and consciousness began when she recovered from an illness, using complementary medicine methods. As a result, she started researching the effects of alternative medicine on health. She was fascinated by the idea that our thoughts and intentions could have a direct impact on our physical and emotional well-being. This led her to explore the concept of the mind-body connection and how our thoughts and emotions can influence our health.
When in the early 2000s, Lynne published her book, ‘The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe,’ it became an instant bestseller. This book introduced the concept of the ‘Zero Point Field,’ a sea of energy that connects everything in the universe. In this book, McTaggart also discussed the power of intention and how it could be used to influence the physical world.
Since then, Lynne has continued her research and has published several other books, including ‘The Intention Experiment,’ ‘The Bond,’ and ‘The Power of Eight.’ She has also created a global community of like-minded individuals who participate in her intention experiments to test the power of group intention on various outcomes such as healing and reducing violence. For example, in one experiment, McTaggart and her team asked a group of individuals to focus their intention on reducing violence in a specific area. The results showed a significant decrease in crime rates in that area compared to other similar areas where no intention was directed.
Lynne McTaggart’s work has opened up new avenues for exploration and has sparked important conversations about the role of consciousness and intention in our lives. Her work has also inspired many individuals to take a more active role in their health and well-being by harnessing the power of their thoughts and intentions.
