The US-Israeli Illegal War: A Day That Will Live In Infamy?

Donald Trump’s worrying state of mind continues to raise concerns. His grasp of perspective in particular raises more questions about his suitability, or lack thereof, to control the office of the US presidency. For example, when speaking to a Japanese audience recently about the surprise element to the opening US strikes on Iran, Trump likened his attack on Iran to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour. Also, in other recent news reports President Trump is reported to have stated that the US was “getting very close to meeting its military objectives” in Iran.

Given the ramifications of his comments it seems that Donald Trump doesn’t think very clearly about the broad context of what he says, since President Roosevelt said of the Pearl Harbour attack at the time it occurred that it was “a day that would live in infamy”, adding that it was a “dastardly” act. And with regard to his words about the US “meeting its military objectives” in this illegal war, Trump totally failed to recognise the human tragedies that he has caused, by instigating attacks that have killed over 3000 Iranians, including over 150 innocent girls, who were murdered by a US Tomahawk missile strike.

Are we safe with this unpleasant man leading the most powerful military force in the world? Should Trump have his finger over the nuclear weapons button? I don’t think so. We hope for better from the illustrious United States of America.
