US Vice-president, JD Vance has begun a flight to Pakistan, to begin negotiations with Iran. He says he will work with Iran if they act in “good faith”, while warning Iran not to “try to play us”.
His own bad faith is so pronounced, that he wilfully fails to recognise the hypocrisy in his statement, given that Pakistan has affirmed that a cessation of strikes against Lebanon did indeed form part of the original proposal, and it is therefore the Trump administration, and the government of Benjamin Netanyahu that has broken the deal, acting in bad faith, whilst trying to “play” the rest of the world by presenting a dishonest account of what was first agreed.
Given Vance’s conduct, here and in regard to Ukraine, I’m not surprised that he can’t be trusted to present a fair account, just as his habitually lying boss, Donald Trump can’t be trusted either.
